Nitish Kumar Early Life
Nitish Kumar Reddy was born on 26 May 2003 in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and is the son of former Hindustan Zinc employee Mutyala Reddy. Nitish started playing cricket at the age of 5 with a plastic bat and would regularly visit the Hindustan Zinc grounds to watch seniors play cricket.
He was Supported by his father, who made the significant sacrifice of quitting his job after being transferred to Udaipur, Nitish embarked on his cricketing pursuit.
With his father’s unwavering dedication, Nitish attended VDCA camps and received initial training under coaches Kumara Swamy, Krishna Rao, and Watekar.
Nitish said of his father’s decision: “I was 12 or 13 when my dad quit his job. He was transferred to Udaipur. He analyzed the cricket there and was afraid of the politics that might affect my game.
He left his job and dedicated his time to my game. Relatives questioned his decisions. He is the first person who believed in me.
Nitish’s talent caught the eye of former Indian cricketer and selector MSK Prasad during Under-12 and Under-14 matches, leading to his selection for training at the ACA academy in Kadapa under the guidance of coaches Madhusudhana Reddy and Srinivasa Rao.
He followed this up with a trailblazing season scoring 441 against Nagaland, the quadruple ton coming in just 345 deliveries and ending up with 1237 runs at an average of 176.41, a tournament record, along with 26 wickets in the 2017-18 Vijay Merchant Trophy.
His remarkable and dominating performance earned him the BCCI ‘Best Cricketer in the Under -16’ Jagmohan Dalmiya award for the season 2017–2018 and became the first player of Andhra Cricket Association who got the BCCI award.

Reddy was named to the Andhra Under-14 team for the 2015-2016 South Zone Inter State Under-14 tournament. On 6 January he was added to the playing 11 and made his debut against Tamil Nadu Under-14 where he scored 76 runs off 163 deliveries and was the highest score in the tournament.
He played four matches in the 2015-2016 South Zone Inter State Under-14 tournament and scored 152 runs at an average of 38 including two half-centuries.
In the first match of the 2017-2018 Vijay Merchant Trophy (South Zone), he scored 301 runs from 407 balls and took a wicket against Tamil Nadu Under-16 in 2017.

He made his IPL debut on 18 May 2023 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He bowled two overs at an economy of 9.50 but he did get a chance to bat.
