Early Life
Rajat Patidar is an Indian international player, he is a right-hand and an off-spin bowler. He was born on 1 June 1993 in Madhya Pradesh India. He struggled a lot in his career as he did not play age-group cricket, due to lack of opportunities and started playing cricket at the age of 18.
Initially, he started his career as a fast bowler but later switched to spin bowling to get more opportunities to play junior cricket. Rajat Patidar with his hard work fulfilled his dream of playing in the Indian cricket team.
Rajat Patidar had an ACL injury in his right knee that forced him out of the game for quite a while in 2014. Due to the nature of the injury, the doctors told him that he’d be out for at least eight months.
Rajat’s family did not want him to get the surgery done to repair his damaged ACL instead told him to get a degree and take over their family business. It took a lot of persuasion from his side to make his family reconsider their decision.
Rajat Patidat worked under the tutelage of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) coach Amay Khurasiya after he recovered from his injury.

Domestic Cricket Career
Rajat Patidar started his career as a bowler, but after the Under-15 level, he focused more on his batting. He later played cricket for the Madhya Pradesh cricket team at Under-19 and Under-22 levels.
On 30 October 2015, he made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh against Baroda in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. In his first two innings, Patidar impressed everyone by scoring a half-century (60) and a century (101).
On 11 December 2015, Patidar made his List A debut against Saurashtra in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In his List A debut match he scored 53 runs off 40 balls. On January 8, 2018, he made his T20 debut against Rajasthan in the 2017-2018 Zonal T20 League where he scored 38 runs.
He came to attention when he became the highest run-scorer for Madhya Pradesh in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy with 713 runs in eight matches. In 2019, he was added to the India Blue squad for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy.
Rajat Patidar has played 56 first-class matches and scored more than 4000 plus runs at an average of 45.40 so far. During this period he scored 12 centuries and 22 half-centuries.

IPL Cricket Career
After stellar performances in domestic cricket, Rajat Patidar was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 20 lakh in the 2021 IPL auction.
On 9 April 2021, Patidar made his IPL debut against Mumbai Indians. He scored only 71 runs in four matches in his first season. However, RCB released him before the 2022 IPL auction.
He has remained unsold in the mega auction of the 2022 IPL. Later, Patidar was signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 20 lakh in mid-season as a replacement for injured Lavnith Sisodia.

With this, Patidar made history as he became the first player to score a century in the IPL playoffs. Also, it was the joint fastest century (49 balls) by any player in the playoffs.

In the IPL 2022 season, he has played 8 matches and scored 333 runs with one century and two-half centuries. He was retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore before the 2023 IPL, but he did not get a chance to play in the 2023 season.

After impressive performances in the domestic circuit and the 2022 IPL season, Rajat Patidar was selected in the Indian ODI squad for the series against South Africa.
Later. He was made an injured replacement for Shreyas Iyer in the ODI series against New Zealand in February 2023.
However, on both occasions, he was unable to make his debut. Finally, on 21 December 2023, Patidar made his debut in an ODI against South Africa and scored 22 runs off 16 balls.
