Early Life
Ruturaj Gaikwad was born on 31 January 1997, in Pune Maharashtra, India. Currently, he is 27 years old. He is one of the youngest premises in Indian cricket, he started his cricket journey at an early age. From a very tender age, when he was just 5 years old, he showed an immense passion for cricket, and he started playing leather ball cricket.
Not many know that he attended a match between New Zealand and Australia at Pune’s Nehru Stadium in 2003, an experience that heightened his passion for the sport.
He joined the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) Varroc Dilip Vengsarkar Academy in Thergaon in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune at the age of 11, which helped him unlock his full potential.
He applied diligent effort, determination, and perseverance in the game, which saw him rise through the ranks, where he went on to play for Maharashtra U-14 and U-16 teams.

Ruturaj Gaikwad IPL Career
In 2020, he accompanied Chennai Super Kings to the U.A.E for the 2020 Indian Premier League. On arrival, the whole team was tested positive for Covid-19 including Ruturaj.

Ruturaj was added to the team in place of Suresh Raina as he had to leave the premier league due to certain personal problems.
He was a big fan of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and Ruturaj can be seen in the field with him during practices.
