Sanju Viswanath Samson is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team as a wicket-keeper batter. Early Life

Sanju Samson was born on 11 November 1994 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. His Full name is Sanju Viswanath Samson. Currently, he is 29 years old at that time. Rishabh always wanted to be a cricketer and grew up idolizing Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Sanju Samson spent his early childhood days in Delhi, and his cricketing career began from there in DL DAV Model School under coach Yashpal. Later on, he moved to Thiruvananthapuram and received his training at Masters Cricket Club. Sanju Samson’s coach Biju George trained him at Medical College Ground, Thiruvanathapuram afterwards.

He represented Kerala at U-13. He captained the Kerala team in the KCA inter-state tournament scored a hefty 973 runs and was also awarded player of the tournament. He was also part of Kerala at U-16 and scored a double century in just 138 balls in the Vijay Merchant trophy. He was captain of Kerala team in U-16 and U-19

With consistent performance, he was selected for the India U-19 team in 2012. Later on, he was selected as Vice-Captain for the India U-19 cricket team for various series, and then after that, he was elected as Vice-captain for team India U-19 cricket world Cup where he was the highest run scorer for India with the best score against PNG where he smashed 85 runs.

He put the Kerala cricket team to a new height under his captaincy with Kerala qualifying for the quarter-final for the first time in the history of the Ranji trophy in 2017-2018. He was elected as Captain for the India-A team for the ODI series against NZ.

Pant made his first-class debut on 3 November 2011 in the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy against Vidarbha and his List A debut on 23 Feb 2012 in the 2011–12 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Andhra Pradesh.

In the 2012–13 Ranji Trophy, Samson scored his maiden century against Himachal Pradesh and he was Kerala’s highest run scorer in the 2013-2014 Ranji trophy by scoring 530 runs.

Sanju Samson was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders but did not get a chance to play, later on, he debuted for Rajasthan Royals in 2013 where he scored 206 runs in 11 games.

Samson was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2013 Indian Premier League. He played for Delhi Capitals for 2 seasons when Rajasthan Royals was banned in some illegal circumstances and later came back to Rajasthan Royals in 2018 again.

In October 2020, He was named in the 3-T20I series against Australia but failed to impress and was dropped for the next series against England.

After this, he was added to India’s squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. He made his ODI debut for India against Sri Lanka on 23 July 2021. He scored a crucial 46 runs in that game.
