Saurabh Kumar is an Indian professional cricketer who belongs to Baraut, Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, India. He served in the Indian Air Force and left the Air Force to pursue a cricket career.
He struggled a lot in his early childhood as he traveled from his hometown to Delhi to practice. Saurabh used to travel to Delhi from his village for his training at the National Stadium.
His practice started at 3 pm, so he had to take a passenger train to Baraut from Delhi, and then catch a bus from there to the stadium.
His family was very supportive of him during his training days. Especially, his father struggled too with him as used to accompany him to the stadium from his village.
His mother also worked hard for him and sacrificed a lot for him.

Saurabh Kumar Cricket Career
Saurav Kumar has started his domestic cricket journey playing for the Service team after he joined the Indian Air Force in 2014.
He made his First-Class debut for the Services Team against Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 season where he picked up 1 wicket from his 31-over spells for his side.
2014-15 Ranji Trophy season had an impressive season with the Services Team for Saurabh, he took 17 wickets and scored 304 runs for his team.
Saurabh has played some noteworthy performances in first-class cricket. In 44 first-class matches, he picked up 192 wickets at an average of 23.4 with an economy of 2.70 runs per over.
He has 16 five-wickets and 6 ten-wicket hauls to his name in first-class cricket.
He made his Twenty20 debut on 8 January 2016 in the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He was the leading wicket-taker for Uttar Pradesh in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy, with 23 dismissals in four matches.
In 2017 Indian Premier League, Rising Pune Supergiants bought him for Rs 10 Lakhs. In July 2018, he was named in the squad for India Blue for the 2018–19 Duleep Trophy.
He was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament, with nineteen dismissals in three matches.
In December 2018, in a Ranji Match against Haryana in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, Kumar took fourteen wickets for 65 runs in the match. These were the second-best match figures for a bowler for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy.
In the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, Kumar was the leading wicket-taker for Uttar Pradesh in the group stage with 51 dismissals in 10 matches.

Saurabh Kumar has scored 1549 runs in 44 first-class matches at an average of 29.78 runs per match. He has two centuries and eight half-centuries to his name in first-class cricket with the highest score of 133 runs.

In January 2021, he was named as one of five net bowlers in India’s Test squad for their series against England.
In the 2021 Indian Premier League, he was bought by Punjab Kings in the IPL Auction.
In February 2022, he was again named to India’s Test squad, this time for their series against Sri Lanka, but he hadn’t yet got the opportunity to play any debut match.
