Shashank Singh Early Life
Shashank Singh started playing cricket when he was 8 years old. He took his initial cricket coaching in Madhya Pradesh till the age of 17 and later, in 2008, moved to Mumbai, seeking better cricket coaching and opportunities.
The greatest challenge started for the 17-year-old Shashank Singh after coming to Mumbai was to find a suitable cricket academy from where he could pursue his cricket career.
He joined the Vidya Paradkar Cricket Academy in 2008 and started coaching there under the adept of Vidya Paradkar, a veteran cricket coach who has been training young cricketers in Mumbai for more than three decades. Shashank attributes all his success to Vidya Paradkar.
After learning the specifics of cricket from Vidya Paradkar, he joined Mumbai’s DY Patil Sports Academy and started playing club-level cricket for their team.

He started his cricket career in the year 2015 with Mumbai Domestic Team, but due to not getting opportunities, he moved to Chhattisgarh, later he joined Chhattisgarh Domestic Cricket in the year 2019. So let’s know about ‘Shashank Singh’s domestic cricket career’.
Domestic Cricket Career
In 2015, he first came to note of the Mumbai selectors after he played an unbeaten innings of 65 runs off 23 balls. These innings helped him get into Mumbai’s T20 team.
Shashank made his domestic cricket debut on 1 April 2015 in a T20 match against Cuttack in the 2015-16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has scored 754 runs in 58 T20s matches at a strike rate of over 137.34.
On 10 December 2015, He made his List-A cricket debut in a match against Punjab played in Hyderabad. He has played 30 List A cricket so far, in which he has scored 986 runs at an average of 41.08.
In 2019, he moved to Chattisgarh to continue the rest of his cricket career with the Chattisgarh cricket team. On 9 December 2019, he played his maiden Ranji Trophy match, representing Chattisgarh in a match against Odisha.
Shashank Singh’s IPL career & debut
Considering his cracking performances in the domestic cricket circuit, he was bought by Delhi Daredevils for his base price of Rs 10 Lakh in the IPL auction ahead of the Indian Premier League 2017.
He was again retained by Delhi Capitals in 2018 at the same price of 10 Lakhs in the IPL 2018 season. But he was released without being given a chance.
And then in 2019, Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 30 lakh for the IPL 2019 season. And again he was retained by Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 IPL season in the auction ahead of Indian Premier League 2020.
He was not included in the playing eleven in a single match, but his dream of an IPL debut remained unfulfilled. This player sat on the bench for 4 years.
And after this in the next season of IPL 2022 auction, he was signed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the IPL 2022 season. And then finally, he made his IPL debut on April 9, 2022, against Chennai Super Kings with the SRH team in the 2022 IPL season.
Then in the IPL 2024 season, he was included in the Punjab Kings team at a base price of 20 Lakhs. He played a key role for Punjab in the 17th match of the IPL season against Gujarat in a 199-run chase and scored 61 runs off 29 balls with 6 boundaries and 4 sixes.
