The 16th Tata IPL 2023 season of the Indian Premier League, the world’s most entertaining and expensive T20 cricket league, has concluded. The final match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on 29 May 2023 in which Chennai Super Kings won the match by five wickets and won the IPL title for the fifth time and the most in the Indian Premier League history and equaled the Mumbai Indians records.

Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2023 in a rain-affected match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. In the final match of the Indian Premier League -2021 season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the title for the fourth time by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Batting first after losing the toss, Chennai scored 192 runs losing 3 wickets. In that match, Faf Du Plessis played a helpful innings of 86 runs while Moeen Ali had an unbeaten 37 runs. Chennai Super Kings became the second team to win more than two IPL trophies. Experienced Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson were the batting backbone of this team. This was the second time when Mumbai Indians won the IPL title and became the third team after CSK and KKR to win the title more than once this season.
