Non-Indian Players: These players belong to International teams and doesn’t matter where players fall under the category. An IPL team can hold a maximum of 8 foreign players but only being is only allowed to field a maximum of 4 at a time.

There is no limit to the number of players listed at the IPL auction, with the number differing in most years. The amount of players listed is dependent on who signs up and provided the players have been approved by their countries.

As per the IPL chairman Dhumal, each team will have the opportunity to retain only 3 or 4 players like in the IPL 2022 mega auction, which saw a total of 204 players being sold for Rs. 551 crore.
